MercuryWorks DevWeek Summer 2023

MercuryWorks DevWeek is upon us!

July 10th marks the kickoff of an important week at MercuryWorks – our summer MercuryWorks DevWeek! We are flying all MercuryWorks developers and engineers into Tampa for the week of July 10th through July 14th to spend the week collaborating, getting better at what we do and generally “sharpening the saw“.

While we are a proudly remote-first company, we highly value the importance of shared team time, the “extra something special” that in-person interaction adds and the value of taking some focused time to focus our collective application development direction. That, in a nutshell, is what MercuryWorks DevWeek is all about!

Here are some of the marquee activities for this summer’s DevWeek:

  • Recap accomplishments and demo major products releases from the first half of the year
  • Set our development strategy for the second half of 2023
  • Scrum team lunches and retrospectives
  • Guild meetings (front-end, back-end, Product and Power Platform)
  • This year we’ll have a 25th anniversary celebration!!
  • Off-site team event and All Hands meeting
  • Engineering and Product leadership strategy sessions
  • Delivery Lead and Engineering Manager Scrum team sessions
  • Happy hour. Well, probably several happy hours.
MercuryWorks DevWeek

Renewal is the principle—and the process—that empowers us to move on an upward spiral of growth and change, of continuous improvement.

— Dr. Stephen R. Covey

Watching out for our clients during DevWeek

With all of the above activities, our staff will be occupied in team activities for a good portion of the week. Keep in mind, though, that we are careful to remain staffed and responsive to production issues and also plan well in advance to reschedule any meeting conflicts. Know that we more than make up for this short-term dip in output when our teams come back to work with greatly sharpened saws!
