Budgetary Control and Reporting

Financial controls are key to business outcomes

MANAGE TO ROI

Up-to-the-day budget expenditure vs progress

Success in software product development isn’t made up of only technical excellence and astute product management.  We manage budget consumption throughout an engagement to yield return on investment – and surface real-time spend info.

How MyMWKS Supports Budgetary Control

Front and center on every client’s My MercuryWorks dashboard is a “Progress vs Spend” visualization.  The “Work Completion” chart provides a breakdown of planned work by status while the “Budget Consumption” bar chart illustrates your established budget level compared to actual budget spend.

My MercuryWorks financial information is as timely as the current date when you are reviewing the report.  And fear not — if your organization is running multiple MercuryWorks engagements, you can view both overall budget consumption or filter by any engagement.

Spend History

The “Spend History” page in My MercuryWorks provides engagement spend information by month for any selected range.  This chart provides more granular insight than what is provided on the “Progress vs Spend” dashboard and enables financial managers to gain a view of service spend over time.

Once again, if your organization is engaged in multiple development or operations engagements with MercuryWorks, the Spend History chart will display the cost of each in a stacked bar chart to provide details on spend for each engagement in each month.

Per-sprint Budget Summary

Every Progress Report provides a financial breakdown of expended labor hours and associated budget spend.  Since these reports are distributed at the conclusion of each sprint, this report provides a handy update to gain a view of outcomes associated with each sprint’s spend.
